Essential Employees & Remote Work
In the context of the University’s phased approach to reopening, some staff and faculty will return to work on campus sooner than others, in order to support essential components of the University's mission. These employees have been or will be notified by their respective managers. Function-specific protocols, above and beyond those outlined for the broader campus community, may be outlined and expected of all employees returning to campus. These protocols will be communicated by the respective units or departments.
As the University moves to the next phase of Reopening—Phase 3: Ramp-Up for the Fall Semester—the University will provide further guidance to departments and managers regarding alternating schedules and staggered shifts for those that will be asked to return to campus in preparation for the start of the semester. These guidelines are meant to minimize personnel traffic and proximity.
If you are currently working remotely, please continue to do so until additional guidance is provided by your manager. Staff members are likely to return to campus at different times, depending on their roles and responsibilities. Some staff members may continue to work remotely as their role allows, possibly beyond the planned reopening of campus in August.
