Dear Faculty and Staff,
The University of Notre Dame recognizes the importance of meeting your family’s child and elder care needs, especially given the additional stress caused by maintaining productivity while managing increased and unanticipated family obligations. As our provost, Marie Lynn Miranda, and executive vice president, Shannon Cullinan, shared in their message earlier this week, the University is temporarily expanding and introducing a number of important benefits for full-time faculty, staff and graduate students at the recommendation of the Working Group on Schools and Child/Eldercare.
These temporary new and expanded benefits fall into four broad categories and are described in detail at the following links:
- the introduction of 10 temporary Child/Elder Care Leave Days,
- the expansion of eligibility and availability of emergency back up care services,
- tools to connect caregivers with care providers and
- continued flexibility in work schedules.
