Remember, you are in quarantine/isolation. Guests are not allowed and you must stay inside your space/room. Failure to follow this may result in disciplinary action.
What if I start to feel worse or develop new symptoms?
If you are concerned about new or worsening medical symptoms (including, but not limited to, severe sore throat, abdominal pain, painful urination, nausea, and vomiting), you should call University Health Services for a telehealth consultation at 574-631-7497. Our clinicians are committed to ensuring you are scheduled for any additional testing or medical evaluation you may need. All students may call UHS for consultation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
What if I feel lonely or need someone to talk to?
Being in isolation or quarantine is a challenging experience. It’s okay if you feel lonely or are struggling with this. Please know that you are not alone. People across campus are ready to assist you and to remind you that we are here for you. While you are in isolation or quarantine you will hear regularly from the Care and Concern team. You may also hear from Campus Ministry or your hall staff to see how you are doing. If you want to connect with these resources, please call the Care and Concern team at 574-634-1148. If you are interested in speaking with someone directly call the University Counseling Center directly at 574-631-7336.
I have an appointment at the stadium for initial or follow-up testing and need a ride, who do I call?
If you are close to campus and are able to walk, it will be your quickest option. Otherwise, please call NDPD at 574-631-5555 and ask them to arrange for a transport driver to come and get you from your quarantine/isolation space and take you to your appointment. Please give them your name, phone number, and location. Please allow at least 20 minutes for a driver to arrive.
I’m in quarantine/isolation, how do I get food?
- If you were sent on a weekday, you should have received a meal or two to go to get you through your first day. Did you scan the QR Code to register your food preferences? If so, you’re all set! Just because you’ve been moved, temporarily, to alternate housing, doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about you! When you were questioned about food allergies, it was because we are setting you up with Campus Dining for food and snack delivery.
- Campus Dining will deliver food to your facility twice a day. Breakfast will consist of a hot meal and a bag with water, snacks, and lunch and that is typically delivered between the hours of 7:30 am - 9 am. The second delivery will be a hot dinner typically delivered between 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
What if I don’t get my food?
If you are moved into your quarantine space after 7:00 p.m., food delivery will happen by 9:00 am the following morning. If food is not delivered, and you are at a hotel location, please call the front desk of the hotel. They will know how to help you. If you are at a non-hotel location, please call the Care and Concern team between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday at 574-634-1148 or email@example.com.
What if I want something different than what’s being delivered?
Instacart www.instacart.com provides grocery delivery in our area. They have great service options and you don’t even need a membership. If you’re just looking for meal delivery rather than groceries, Doordash, Grubhub, UberEats, and many local restaurants will deliver to you.
What if I’m missing something in my quarantine space?
If you are missing linens or toiletry items, please call the Care and Concern team between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11:00 a.m .- 1:00 p.m. on weekends at 574-634-1148 (this is not for extra items). Please give them your name, your quarantine/isolation address, phone number, and explain to them what you need. Out of respect for our partners, students will only be allowed one delivery request at the beginning of your stay. There are no deliveries after 5:00 p.m.
What if I need my laundry done?
If you are not living in a space with laundry facilities, you may need to enroll in the University’s laundry program at this time. There is no cost to using this service. If you are interested, please reach out to the Care and Concern team at 574-634-1148 or firstname.lastname@example.org to enroll.
What should I do with trash?
Please place bundled trash outside your room door for daily collection.
What should I do with my keys once my quarantine/isolation period is over?
Please leave your key on the kitchen counter or in a visible space when you leave. If you borrowed an ethernet cable and adapter please also leave this equipment. Building Services will pick it up when they come to clean the space.
What should I do with the linens that were provided to me?
There should be a laundry bag provided, please place all linens into the laundry bag and place that bag in the kitchen to be retrieved.
Who should I call if I have any problems with my meal delivery or maintenance issues with my quarantine/isolation unit?
During the day, Care and Concern team can assist you with any meal delivery or maintenance issues that need to be addressed. They can be reached at 574-634-1148 or email@example.com. After hours, please call 574-634-1148 and you will be routed to the appropriate department.
